Recording for Murder of the Fawn
The post-birthday energy was still running high when I finally stepped back into the studio to break in the new mics. There’s always a specific kind of anticipation that comes with unpacking fresh gear, and getting everything routed, cabled, and mounted on the stands felt like opening a second round of presents. I spent the first hour just running through vocal checks, dialing in the gain, and marveling at the sheer clarity and warmth of the capture. It’s amazing how a massive upgrade in audio fidelity instantly sparks new creative momentum—it was the absolute perfect way to kick off another trip around the sun and get back to work.
Sound engineer made life tough today really gave the vocal cords a stretch, top register is still not coming back!
